About Mindfulness Manchester

Mindfulness Manchester is founded by Helen Bambrough (BA.Hons) PGCE MAR ITEC

My working background has been in education working as a Nursery teacher, Early Years Lead in The Manchester Traveller Education Service and as an Early Years Advisor for Stockport City Council. I also qualified as a Reflexologist in 1999 and practice at The Manchester Buddhist Centre.

I have been part of a practice group for Non Violent Communication (NVC or Compassionate Communication) since 2008.

 Why Mindfulness and Self-Compassion?

I have been a meditator since my early twenties and it was when I was home educating my son through his secondary school years, that my mindfulness and self-compassion practice grew.

I was experiencing overwhelm and could see that this is a shared experience of many people. It’s tough living today and many of us are experiencing an overwhelmed state of being and are struggling.

Chris Germer, co-founder of Mindful Self-Compassion said,

 Being exposed to grief, loss, or feelings of disconnection call us to find resources for support, connection and healing. Self -compassion offers such a balm for these times”

 The research evidence for the benefits of Mindful Self-Compassion are compelling and increasing year on year.

 And as Chris Germer says,

A string of such moments can change the course of your life”

 Mindful Self-Compassion is the antidote to the challenges we all have in our modern lives. It is resource building and life affirming.
